Providing Relief and Support in Troubling Times

COVID-19 disrupted the lives of Tim, age 9, and his mom, Anne. Tim and Anne were suddenly at home–no school, laid off from work, and no regular schedule. They were also without a computer for Tim to complete his eLearning assignments. Stress and anxiety were quickly mounting.

Anne was relieved when her boss called her back to work, but with only 24 hours to make arrangements for Tim, who struggles with anxiety and needs supportive care, her panic began to set in again.

Luckily, Anne found YWCA Young Wonders. Staff were able to answer all of her questions and get Tim set-up in a classroom in time for her to return to work. Young Wonders was able to supply Tim with caring and experienced teachers to help him adjust and also provided a laptop to keep him connected with his grade school teachers to keep him on track academically.

Anne is now back to work worry-free and Tim is thriving in the care provided by YWCA Young Wonders.
