For more than 20 years, YWCA McLean County Stepping Stones has met the needs of our community by establishing strong foundations with community partners and utilizing all resources available – large and small.
With continued growth of the program, staff, and number of clients, an accessible, safe and confidential space is essential for the continuity of our services. This expansion brings increased confidentiality, program privacy, and the opportunity for all to operate in a comfortable, functional environment.
As our counselors and volunteers begin to move into new, secure program areas, our team will be able to serve an even greater number of survivors. Growth of our program coincides directly with the reimagination of our space to be a central location that is entirely dedicated to the Stepping Stones program. With equal access and the ability to grow our team to serve more of McLean County, we are taking steps to a safer community.
When our clients arrive, we want them to rest assured that they are in a comfortable environment that is built with their safety and well-being at the forefront. YWCA’s building was not originally designed with Stepping Stones’ services in mind - there is no survivor-specific waiting room, sound-proof counseling spaces, or central facilities. In this expanded center, clients will have all of their needs met in one secure location.
At Stepping Stones, our top priority is the confidentiality surrounding survivors at all times. Our program strives to maintain an environment that allows each client and their loved ones the space to share, while never having to worry about violation of their personal information or identity. Privacy and protection are key, and with the expansion of our program space we are able uphold this critical aspect of our services.

DOUBLE THE COUNSELING SPACE

CONFIDENTIAL WAITING ROOM
Aptly called the Comfort Room, this space is where all
