In 2021 - 2022, we accomplished:
Labyrinth provided services to 92 clients between transitional housing, outreach services, and emergency needs/crisis intervention. Clients received 1,544 hours of case management and 134 hours of education, including weekly groups at the county jail, organization skills workshops, and self-care and support groups. In February 2022, our grant-funded positions ended, leaving us with 2 full-time staff to focus primarily on our transitional housing program, referring many of our outreach clients to other agencies.

- One client passed 2 of our 4 GED tests
- 3 clients worked with YW Strive to learn to how to better use new technology.
- Client was able to spend time with her two children for the first time in 2 years
- Client was allowed into her parent’s house for the first time in 5 years and was able to tuck her daughter in at night
- Client was promoted to Assistant Manager
- Collaborated with other agencies in town to host a Fully Free Campaign; One client told her story publicly for the first time
- Client was promoted at work after exceeding productivity expectations
- Client was given full custody of her 6-month-old child, after participating consistently with Labyrinth
- Client completed certification program and was placed on the Dean’s List at HCC
- Client complied with DCFS requirements, maintained stable housing, employment and remained sober. Her 18-month-old son was able to move back in with her full time for the first time in over a year
- Hosted a session on sealing/expunging records with Prairie State Legal Services
- Wait list reduced from 40 to 0
- Recurring clients: 296
- Presented prevention education to 8,570 students* through 1,112 presentations
- Provided support to 105 survivors through hospital calls
- Criminal justice advocacy for 10 people
- Staff, interns, and volunteers provided 287 crisis intervention calls
- Hours of public education provided to McLean County schools: 1,150
- Counseling and advocacy service hours: 3,194

- Number of apprentice hours worked: 2,293
- Number of full-time staff who have experienced incarceration: 1
- Number of Strive participants who completed at least 1 hour of training: 43

- Launched new custom candle service with two new partners:
- IL Soybean Association
- Cornejo & Kearfott Realty
- Children served: 70
- PNC Outdoor Learning Environment: 65 children, 4,875 hours
- Two year olds and pre-k children received 24 hours of intergenerational experiences
- Thanks to the Women to Women grant, Early Learning provided each child a social/emotional take home pack
- With the help of the Childcare Workforce Bonus, all childcare staff received 2 bonuses
- The Comcast Grant supported 2 HATCH computers to give preschool teachers and parents a chance to connect more efficiently
- Strengthen and Grow Child Care Grant upgraded 6 bathrooms in the childcare center
- The CCRRN Quality Improvement Grant provided new science toys, climbers, and diversity materials for 75 children
- Early Learning provided 45 hours of free childcare to 15 children while their parents attended Project Oz Life Skill classes
- One of our teachers majoring in Early Childhood Education received a significant scholarship from the Early Childhood Access Consortium for Equity Scholarship Program
- Teaching staff received 15 hours of training on: professionalism, customer service, food program, nutrition for families, autism, social/emotional trauma
- Children served: 306
- Children served during Summer Camp: 131
- Hours of tutoring from ISU’s America Reads program: 288
- Collaborative meetings with Unit 5, ISU, and special education leaders: 14
- Number of program sites that received a laptop through the Comcast Grant: 9
- Children who participated in a March Madness tournament with RSVP volunteers: 60
- Teaching staff received 20 hours of training on: social/emotional trauma, building positive social & emotional skills in children
YWCA McLean County advocated in support of:

Creates the Human Service Professional Loan Repayment Program, which shall be administered by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, to provide loan repayment assistance to eligible direct service professionals practicing in a community-based, human service agency that contracts with or is grant funded by a State agency. Contains provisions concerning applications, award amounts, eligibility and work requirements, and rules. - Latina Equal Pay Day Congressional Resolution
Recognizing the significance of equal pay and the disparity in wages paid to Latina women in comparison to men. - Amicus Brief for Equal Rights Act Lawsuit
The brief asks the Court to reverse the decision of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and declare the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) as the 28th Amendment in the U.S. Constitution. - Letter of support to Pass YWCA’s FY2023 Appropriations Priorities
In July 2022, YWCA McLean County signed a letter of support detailing the need for Congress, specifically the Committees on Appropriations, to strengthen and pass YWCA’s FY2023 appropriations priorities.
