Founded in 1908, YWCA McLean County has spent more than a century evolving to meet the changing needs of our community. Today, the 1908 Collective carries that legacy forward through the power of monthly giving.
The 1908 Collective is our community of recurring donors who provide steady, reliable support for the programs and services families depend on every day. From early learning and youth development to 24/7 sexual assault crisis response, workforce development, and equity initiatives, monthly donors help ensure YWCA can continue showing up when it matters most.
A monthly gift does more than sustain services — it creates stability. Predictable funding allows nonprofits like YWCA to plan responsibly, respond immediately in times of crisis, strengthen programs over time, and adapt as community needs evolve. While one-time gifts are deeply meaningful, recurring donations provide the consistent foundation that makes long-term impact possible.

If you are over 70 1/2 years old and subject to Required Minimum Distributions (RMD), then you are able to use a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to make a donation to YWCA McLean County directly from your IRA. This donation will count towards your RMD and reduce the taxable amount of your withdrawal. By having a check payable to YWCA McLean County, you will benefit our programs and reduce your adjusted gross income for the year.
If you choose to do this, please be sure to check with your tax preparer and remember to claim your contribution at tax time. The 1099 that you receive from your IRA custodian will show the total amount withdrawn; you must report the QCD separately to have it removed from your income for the year.
