ways to give
Your donation directly supports our mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom & dignity for all.
Your support can create change and will help make a difference in our community. YWCA McLean County’s programs offer hope and support to some of our community’s most vulnerable and at-risk residents every day.
Whether your favorite YWCA McLean County program:
- is advancing race & gender equity to create a more inclusive community
- is helping people improve their futures through education and hands-on business experiences
- is providing subsidized, quality child care to low-income, working parents
- is providing free support and advocacy to survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones
- is providing support to individuals who’ve experienced incarceration
- is working to support the unhoused with Rapid-Rehousing
- is connecting senior volunteers with local nonprofits
Every gift, no matter how large or small, helps build brighter futures our clients and community.

If you are over 70 1/2 years old and subject to Required Minimum Distributions (RMD), then you are able to use a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to make a donation to YWCA McLean County directly from your IRA. This donation will count towards your RMD and reduce the taxable amount of your withdrawal. By having a check payable to YWCA McLean County, you will benefit our programs and reduce your adjusted gross income for the year.
If you choose to do this, please be sure to check with your tax preparer and remember to claim your contribution at tax time. The 1099 that you receive from your IRA custodian will show the total amount withdrawn; you must report the QCD separately to have it removed from your income for the year.
For more information, please contact your IRA Administrator.
Planned gifts (most commonly a donation made in your will or trust) cost nothing today and allow you to make an incredible impact, which is why so many people choose to make them.
Why give in your will?
- Continue to use assets or property during your lifetime
- Potentially reduce your estate tax burden
- Leave a lasting legacy to YWCA McLean County
