  • Salary: $21.25/hour
  • Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 p.m.; some evenings/weekends as needed

This position will provide support, education, and outreach services to participant’s pre- and post- release from designated correctional centers. This position will provide WRAP training, support groups, and outreach services to program participants and assist them with their reentry process.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have lived experience in mental health/substance use recovery and criminal justice involvement.
  • If not enrolled or completed Peer Recovery program, must become enrolled in the program
  • If haven’t received the National Certified Peer Specialist Certification, willing to work toward achieving the certification by the end of one year
  • Be approved by IDOC to provide services to participants pre-release or receive approval from supervisor to only provide post-release services (if applicable)
  • Have valid driver’s license and insurable by agency insurance company
  • Attend and complete all required training
  • General understanding and basic skills in Microsoft Office products

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Mission, Vision and Values of YWCA McLean County by embedding them into your program and participating in YWCA activities and initiatives.
  • Assist with assessments and case management of clients in the program
  • Provide pre-release and post-release services to participants incarcerated at designated correctional centers
  • Assist with facilitation of support groups for clients
  • Provide information and referrals to community resources
  • Complete all training requirements as assigned
  • Complete case notes and other program-related documentation including data collection and data entry
  • Maintain records for grant reporting
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Complete follow up with clients and assist with Individual Service Plan goals
  • Maintain files for program participants
  • Attend team meetings as requested by supervisor
  • Transport clients to appointments as needed
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from supervisor

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma/GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Prefer participant enrolled in or already received certification in Peer Recovery program

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in English required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Will successfully complete WRAP assessment/program courses
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (both oral and written), and organizational skills
