Women of Distinction Award

YWCA McLean County presents the Women of Distinction awards to women who represent outstanding achievement in their field of endeavor and whose achievements are supportive of the YWCA mission. Awards are presented to women who represent a diversity of race, age, occupation, and endeavor. This award is intended to recognize anyone who identifies as a woman.

Disclaimers and Rules

  • At the time of nomination, the nominee must live, work, or volunteer in McLean County.
  • Incomplete packets will not be considered.
  • Self-nominations, those made anonymously, or by a family member will not be considered.
  • The committee does no further research on the nominee.
  • We cannot consider a candidate if she is seeking elected office the year of the award. Upon request, the nomination can be held for the following year if she is no longer in the election process.
  • YWCA staff/sub-contractors and Women of Distinction committee members are not eligible to receive a Women of Distinction Award.
  • Submissions become the property of YWCA and will not be returned.
  • A panel of subject matter experts and YWCA employees from across the country will judge submissions.
  • All nomination materials are confidential.
  • Not all categories may be awarded in a given year.
  • All nominees must be available to attend the event on Thursday, October 15, 2020.
  • By accepting the nomination, the nominee consents to the publication of her name, photo, and information.
  • By accepting the nomination, the nominee agrees to be available to have a photo taken and participate in pre-event recordings and interviews if necessary.
