Prevention and Empowerment Services
Girls: Building Empowerment and Uniqueness (Girls BE U) is an empowerment group offered to McLean County junior high and high school girls which allows them to explore their own unique and positive qualities through an open and creative curriculum.
Labyrinth addresses the needs of women released from the Illinois Department of Corrections and McLean County jail who are returning to the community. We help rebuild each woman’s dignity and nurture her growth as she develops the attitudes and skills required for productive, independent living.
As part of YWCA Stepping Stones, we know an important piece to the elimination of sexual abuse and assault is through education, beginning at a young age. To that end, we are on a mission to provide education throughout McLean County to children starting in pre-Kindergarten to high school and college-age students, as well as civic groups and employers..
YWCA McLean County's sexual assault program provides 24-hour assistance for sexual assault and sexual abuse victims and their families in McLean County. This free, confidential service also serves as the central sexual assault resource for McLean County. Services include 24-hour hotline, medical and legal advocacy, counseling, prevention education, and volunteer advocacy training.
