Pre-school & Elementary Level
TALKING ABOUT TOUCHING
The Talking About Touching program focuses on teaching children basic skills designed to help them keep safe from dangerous or abusive situations. It provides rules, information, encouragement, and exercises that children need to help protect themselves. Students will learn safety rules that apply to fire, guns, walking, safe & unsafe touches, and learning to ask their parents or the person in charge first before going somewhere with someone or accepting gifts from someone.
Each lesson is approximately 25 minutes.
Preschool and Kindergarten: 15 lessons
Grade 1: 13 lessons
Grade 2: 14 lessons
Grade 3: 13 lessons

STEPS TO RESPECT
The Steps to Respect program promotes a school wide approach to bullying by addressing factors at school, to staff, peer-groups, individual-child, and family levels. The students will practice friendship making skills, learn to recognize, refuse and report bullying; and they will learn how to reach out to someone who is being bullied.
Each lesson is approximately 30 minutes.
Grades 3 and 4: 19 lessons (2 different units)
Grades 5 and 6: 21 lessons (2 different units)
 
Junior High/Middle School Level
SECOND STEP
Second Step is a universal prevention program designed to decrease aggression, bullying, and substance abuse, and to increase student's social skills and school related success.
Each lesson is 50 minutes, but lessons can be divided up into two 25 minutes lessons.
Grade 6: Stepping Up: 15 lessons
Grade 7: Stepping In: 13 lessons
Grade 8: Stepping Ahead: 13 lessons
 
HURTFUL WORDS
The Hurtful Words presentation focuses on verbal abuse, the continuum of violence, and facts and information on sexual harassment. This presentation also provides an overview of Stepping Stones’ program and the services available.
This presentation is approximately 45 to 60 minutes.
Grades 6, 7, and 8

HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS
The Healthy Relationships program helps young people learn the warning signs of potentially violent relationships. This program provides definitions of different types of abuse and information on how abuse escalates from verbal, emotional, and mental abuse to physical abuse.
Each lesson is 100 minutes, but lessons can be divided into two 50 minutes lessons.
Grades 7 & 8
 
RESPECT, GENDER ROLES & BOUNDARIES
The Respect, Gender Roles & Boundaries presentation focuses on the definition of respect; the importance of self-respect and respect for others. This presentation also provides detailed information and definitions on gender roles and boundaries. This program provides an overview of our program and available services.
This presentation is approximately 50 minutes.
Grades 6, 7, & 8
 
High School Level
DATING VIOLENCE:  "Love's Not Supposed to Hurt"
The Dating Violence program focuses on different types of abuse in a relationship, characteristics of non-healthy versus healthy relationships, facts and statistics on dating violence, safety planning, and resources available to help someone in an abusive relationship.
Each lesson is 100 minutes, but lessons can be divided into two 50 minutes lessons.
Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12
 
HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS
The Healthy Relationships presentation focuses on stalking, physical violence in a relationship, characteristics of non-healthy versus healthy relationships, power and control within relationships, and equality in relationships. Healthy Relationships also provides information on the myths and facts of rape, and in addition, the effects of rape on survivors. All information is based on high school student experiences. This presentation consists of a pre-test and a post-test. On the third and final day, the post-test is taken, and the teacher will receive the grades and decide if they would like to use them as a grade in the class. Typically they are used as grades in Health/P.E. and Home Economic classes. This presentation provides an overview of our program and available services, as well.
This is a three day presentation, and each presentation is approximately 50 minutes.
Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12

SEXUAL HARASSMENT/HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS
The Sexual Harassment/Healthy Relationships presentation is similar to the Healthy Relationships presentation, but the material and exercises are presented differently; and this presentation focuses more on the topic of sexual harassment. The Sexual Harassment/Healthy Relationships presentation focuses on sexual harassment, date rape, important myths and facts about sexual assault, power and control within relationships, the effects of rape on survivors, and useful information on what students can do to help make a difference. All information is based on high school student experiences. This presentation consists of a pre-test and a post-test.
